ABSTRACT: Exploring the role of early childhood education in addressing gender-based violence aims to promote gender equality and prevent violence from a young age. This study examines how early childhood education programs contribute to addressing gender-based violence. The objectives are to (1) assess improvements in children's understanding of gender equality and respectful behaviors, (2) evaluate the integration of gender-based violence prevention activities in early childhood education curricula, and (3) examine changes in community attitudes towards gender equality and violence prevention. A survey design is chosen to systematically collect data on educational impacts on gender-based violence prevention. A purposive sample of 110 children aged 4-6 years, from communities with high gender-based violence rates in Ebonyi State, ensures relevant experiences. The case study focuses on an early childhood education center known for its gender equality initiatives. Findings revealed significant improvements in children's understanding of gender equality and respectful behaviors, effectiveness of gender-based violence prevention activities, and positive changes in community attitudes towards gender equality. Recommendations include integrating gender-based violence prevention education into early childhood curricula and collaborating with local organizations to support victims and promote gender equality initiatives.
